BIO-REGENERATIVE TREATMENTS FOR THE EYE AREA

THE HAUS NOTES · RETHINKING HOW WE TREAT THE DELICATE EYE AREA · 5 MIN READ

The eye area is one of the first places we tend to notice change, but not all of those changes are caused by the same thing. Fine lines, crepey skin, reduced elasticity, thinning, hollowing and changes in the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek can all contribute to an eye area that looks different over time.

That distinction matters.

Sometimes the concern is primarily within the skin itself. Other times, there are changes occurring beneath the skin, including changes in tissue quality, support and volume. This is where bio-regenerative approaches to the eye area become particularly interesting.

SKIN QUALITY VS. STRUCTURAL CHANGE

The skin around the eyes is naturally thin and delicate. As we age, changes in collagen, elasticity and hydration can become increasingly visible, contributing to fine lines, crepiness and skin that feels less resilient than it once did. For these concerns, certain regenerative treatments are selected specifically to support skin quality, with the aim of progressively improving characteristics such as texture, hydration, elasticity and resilience.

But skin quality is only one part of the picture.

Hollowing or a deeper tear trough may involve changes occurring beneath the skin, including age-related changes in facial tissues and structural support. In these cases, simply treating the surface of the skin may not address what you are actually seeing.

WHEN THE CONCERN IS HOLLOWING OR VOLUME LOSS

Some bio-regenerative approaches are intended to work differently. Rather than focusing solely on the skin, certain treatments are used to encourage the body's own regenerative and collagen-forming processes within the tissues. The intention is to support gradual improvements in tissue quality, density and structural support over time. Depending on the treatment and individual anatomy, this may also help soften the appearance of hollowing or age-related volume changes.

The important distinction is that the approach is progressive. Rather than simply focusing on creating an immediate change in shape, the treatment plan considers how the tissues themselves can be supported over time.

SO, WHICH APPROACH DO YOU NEED?

That depends on what is actually creating the change you are noticing.

Is it primarily:

  • Fine, crepey or thinning skin?

  • Reduced elasticity or hydration?

  • Changes in tissue quality?

  • Hollowing or loss of support?

  • A combination of several factors?

Often, it is more than one. This is why I don't believe the eye area should be approached by choosing a treatment first.

Assessment should always come first.

We look at the skin, the underlying tissues, facial anatomy and how the area transitions into the cheek before deciding whether treatment is appropriate. If treatment is deemed clinically appropriate, what type of regenerative approach makes sense.

Because the goal isn't simply to treat an under-eye. It is to understand what has changed, where it has changed, and why.

REGENERATIVE EYE SUPPORT

At Lau-vei Haus, bio-regenerative treatment options for the eye area may be considered to support different aspects of age related changes. From skin quality, texture and resilience through to tissue quality, collagen support and volume loss or hollowing.

The approach is selected according to your anatomy and the changes identified during assessment.

Not every hollow needs volume.
Not every line needs filling.
Sometimes, the tissue itself needs support.
