YOUR PRIVACY, PROTECTED WITH CARE.

We understand the trust that comes with sharing your personal and health information. Here’s how we collect, use and protect it.

CLINICAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Clinical photographs may form part of your health record and may be taken to assist with assessment, treatment planning, documenting your presentation and monitoring treatment outcomes. Consent to clinical photography does not mean you have consented to your images being used for marketing or social media. Where we would like to use identifiable photographs, videos, testimonials or other patient material for marketing, promotional, social media or external educational purposes, separate consent will be obtained where appropriate. You may decline marketing consent without this affecting the care you receive at Lau-vei Haus.

PRESCRIBING & OTHER HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS

Some treatments provided at Lau-vei Haus may require assessment or prescribing by an appropriately authorised healthcare practitioner. Lau-vei Haus operates with prescribing and clinical oversight provided by Nurse Practitioner Kelly Beasy, together with other authorised healthcare practitioners where required. Relevant health information may be shared with a practitioner involved in your care where reasonably necessary for assessment, prescribing, treatment planning, clinical review, continuity of care or the management of an adverse event. Prescribing and clinical processes may be facilitated through an approved clinical system. All prescribing and treatment decisions are made following individual assessment and the practitioner's independent professional judgement.

We do not sell your personal or health information. Where reasonably necessary for your care or the operation of the clinic, information may be shared with:

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We take reasonable steps to protect personal and health information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This may include secure clinical and booking systems, password protection, restricted access, appropriate device security and internal privacy procedures. Clinical records are retained for the periods required by applicable legal, professional, clinical governance and insurance requirements. When information is no longer required and there is no obligation to retain it, we may securely destroy or de-identify it.

ACCESSING OR CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. To request access or corrections, please contact us in writing. We may ask you to verify your identity before providing access or making changes to protect the confidentiality of your information. In some circumstances, access may be limited or refused where permitted or required by law.

COMMUNICATIONS

We may contact you regarding appointments, preparation, aftercare, reviews and other matters relating to your care. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time. This will not prevent us from contacting you where reasonably necessary regarding your appointments, clinical care or safety.

PRIVACY CONCERNS & COMPLAINTS

If you have a question or concern about how your personal or health information has been handled, please contact us so we can review and respond to your concern. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to make a complaint to an appropriate Australian privacy or health complaints authority.
