DIFFERENT SKIN. DIFFERENT NEEDS. SAME STANDARD OF CARE.
THE HAUS NOTES · THE LAU-VEI PHILOSOPHY · 4 MIN READ
Why we’ve chosen to price care differently at Lau-vei Haus, and what that says about the way we treat.
There is something I have thought about a lot while building Lau-vei Haus. Not just what treatments we offer, but how the way we structure them might make someone feel. Because the experience of care begins long before a treatment starts. It begins with the language we use, the choices we present, the consultation, the treatment menu and, perhaps more than we realise, the price beside it.
WHEN MORE DOESN’T MEAN BETTER
Aesthetic and skin treatment menus are often built in tiers.
Level one. Level two. Level three.
Standard. Advanced. Premium.
And while there can be practical reasons for structuring treatments this way, it can unintentionally create another message. That the more expensive treatment must be the better treatment. Or that someone experiencing acne scarring, pigmentation, more progressed changes or a particular skin concern needs to spend more simply because their skin requires a different approach.
That never felt quite right for Lau-vei Haus.
Because clinically, more intensive does not necessarily mean better. And more expensive certainly doesn’t mean more appropriate. The right treatment is the one that makes sense for the person sitting in front of us.
WHY OUR PRICING IS DIFFERENT
For many of our skin treatments, you’ll notice that pricing isn’t tiered according to the skin concern being addressed, the intensity of treatment or the professional formulation selected.
That is intentional.
Within The Skin Refinement Collection and Skin Needling Collection, we have chosen to keep pricing consistent wherever possible. This gives us the freedom to assess your skin and select what we believe is most appropriate for you, without asking you to choose between different “levels” of treatment based on price.
Because skin rarely fits neatly into one category.
You may have pigmentation alongside congestion. Dehydration alongside changes in texture. Sensitivity in one area and concerns with skin quality in another. And sometimes, your skin may benefit from more than one approach within the same appointment.
That might mean selecting a particular professional peel. It might mean using more than one peel or formulation where clinically appropriate. With skin needling, it may mean selecting an infusion according to what your skin needs at that particular point in time.
I want the flexibility to work with the skin in front of me, not be limited by the treatment tier you booked.
Your skin may need hydration and skin-quality support at one appointment, greater focus on texture at another, or a different approach altogether as your skin and goals evolve. By removing unnecessary treatment tiers, your care has the flexibility to evolve with you. One person may be addressing congestion. Another, pigmentation. Another, changes in texture or skin quality.
Those concerns aren’t levels. And neither are the people experiencing them.
YOUR SKIN WILL CHANGE. YOUR CARE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE WITH IT.
Skin is dynamic. Hormones change. Seasons change. Stress changes. Lifestyle changes.
The way our skin behaves in our thirties may be very different from how it behaved in our twenties, and it will continue to evolve. So rather than building treatment plans around a hierarchy of services, we prefer to build them around your skin at that particular point in time.
Within selected Lau-vei Haus Skin Refinement and Skin Needling treatments, your practitioner has the flexibility to select or adapt the professional protocol, peel, formulation or infusion following assessment. Sometimes that may be one carefully selected approach. At other times, your skin may benefit from more than one element being incorporated into the treatment.
You shouldn’t have to decide that before you arrive. That’s what the assessment is for.
One approach isn’t inherently better than another. What matters is choosing what makes sense for your skin. At your next appointment, that choice may be different. It is part of our broader approach to personalised skin health. Treating the skin we see in front of us rather than expecting it to fit neatly into a predefined category.
THERE IS ALSO SOMETHING DEEPER BEHIND THIS
For me, this decision is personal.
I have spent much of my life navigating my own changing skin. From acne and the scarring it left behind, to the hormonal shifts of pregnancy and postpartum, I understand what it feels like to be on the other side of the treatment room.
Over the years, I often found myself choosing a treatment only to discover there was another product, infusion or addition recommended to achieve the “best” outcome. What initially felt like one treatment could quickly become a series of add-ons, each suggesting that without the next step, I somehow wasn’t giving my skin everything it needed.
That experience stayed with me.
Because when you are already conscious of your skin, I don’t believe your treatment menu should reinforce the idea that your concern requires a more expensive level of care, or that you need to continually add more to receive the treatment considered most appropriate for you. It is one of the reasons I wanted to approach things differently at Lau-vei Haus. Wherever possible, the elements I believe belong within a treatment are already considered within the price.
If your skin would benefit from a different peel, a particular professional formulation, or more than one appropriate element within that treatment, I don’t want price to be the reason we choose one over another.
I want that decision to be guided by your skin.
And where treatments sit within the same collection, pricing is kept consistent wherever possible so the decision can be guided by what your skin needs rather than by the price attached to a particular product, intensity or protocol.
THE CONVERSATION STARTS WITH YOUR SKIN
Whether we are considering Skin Needling, Skin Refinement or another approach to supporting skin quality, the conversation starts with what we are trying to achieve and why. Not which option carries the higher price.
For me, confidence within aesthetics has never been about telling someone what they need to change in order to feel better about themselves. Confidence comes from understanding.
Understanding your skin.
Understanding why it has changed.
Understanding what may help, and what may not be necessary.
And knowing that when I recommend something, I am choosing it because I believe it is appropriate for your skin.
That matters to me, because I know what it feels like to sit on the other side of that conversation.
Lau-vei Haus was never intended to be a place where the goal is simply to do more. It is a place where we take the time to look at the whole picture:
Skin quality
Movement
Structure
Regenerative potential
Lifestyle
Age-related changes
And, importantly, the person in front of us.
Sometimes that means doing more.
Sometimes less.
Sometimes changing direction altogether.
I want you to be able to sit in a consultation at Lau-vei Haus knowing that our conversation isn’t about moving you through treatment tiers. It is about understanding what may genuinely benefit you and creating an approach that can evolve alongside your skin. Because considered care isn’t about choosing the most expensive option. It is about having the confidence to choose what is appropriate.
